In this theoretical and hands-on workshop, participants will learn about different types of wood, their properties, and applications. The course includes an introduction to marquetry techniques and the development of a wooden ring, from design to finishing.
No previous experience is required. The process will be guided to support the creation of a unique piece within each participant’s individual creative process.

Morning
Part 1: Introduction to wood types and marquetry techniques. Tool presentation.
Part 2: Wood selection, design development, and ring band preparation.
Afternoon
Part 3: Assembly, gluing, and shaping.
Part 4: Finishing.

Short Bio
Sheilla Actis has been teaching courses and workshops since 2016 at institutions such as Sesc and Escola de Marcenaria. She has studied lutherie and completed professional training in marquetry at Senai.
Her work focuses on developing original pieces through a personal and creative process, exploring reuse, aesthetics, and the application of marquetry techniques in objects and accessories.
